Welcome to The Edit

It is a great pleasure to introduce you to the latest edition of our digital community magazine. As ever, there is much activity across the University’s three campuses and beyond which you can read about in this edition.

We are relaunching our strategy, our first as a merged institution. We are doing this from a position of real strength. We have talented students, outstanding colleagues, strong professional partnerships and deep connections across London and beyond. These strengths give us an opportunity to be ambitious, collaborative and outward-looking.

Our prestigious Department of Journalism is celebrating its 50^th birthday and Our School of Health & Medical Sciences has launched In Our DNA, a new campaign showcasing the School’s research and community. I encourage you to watch and share the videos. I was proud – but not surprised – to discover that 17 of our alumni were recognised in the King’s New Year and Birthday Honours this year.

I will be stepping down as President in July 2027 so this will be my last edition. I will, however, remain an avid reader of The Edit and I look forward to keeping in touch with you all.
